Bear River Lodge is a
mountain getaway for us all.
Close to Asheville, yet far
enough away to kick back
and enjoy nature.
The Lodge at Bear River is
the focus of the community.
A place to "set a spell" and
enjoy the company of good
neighbors.

Board of Director Candidates 2012-2014
If anyone else would like to run for a position on the Board
of Directors, please email wellendorf_dave@yahoo.com and
we will be happy to add in your bio and put you on the list of
candidates.
Dave Wellendorf
We moved down to Bear River Lodge from the cold and congestion of
Chicago. Here we built our dream house, a timber frame mountain home that
sits on a cliff overlooking the Big Laurel Creek. Despite challenges along the
way, it was the best decision my wife Callie and I ever made. I am now “semi”
retired and work with a number of charitable and non-profit organizations in
the area in addition to being a Math Instructor at AB Tech Community College
in Asheville and Marshall.
I have had the pleasure of being on the Board of Directors for the last two
years and have been very pleased with the progress we have made in
helping Bear River Lodge start to live up to its potential. While there is still
much more work to do, I believe we are on the right track and I would like to
continue to serve on the Board of Directors to help guide that progress.
Letitia Ann Desjardins
My name is Letitia Ann Desjardins (nickname is “Tish”). I am interested in
being re-elected to the Bear River Lodge Community Association Board.
I have spent the past three years volunteering as your Treasurer, maximizing
the association dues collections so that we can have enough money to keep
our community looking beautiful for the enhancement of our property values
as best as possible.
My husband, Ray, and I purchased our lot in September, 2004 and, upon
retirement, moved into our new home here in the community on March 1,
2007 after living in southeastern Massachusetts for most of our lives. I am
originally from Virginia and part of my 1700's ancestry originates from these
same Blue Ridge mountains that continue into Virginia. These same
mountains are one reason which brought me here and another is my passion
for hiking. I also maintain a section of the Appalachian Trail and am a board
member of the Carolina Mountain Club and an active member of the
Appalachian Trail Conservancy.
I want this community to remain intact with its covenants and restrictions
which we, as owners, signed on to in our deeds. I want it to remain as
natural, clean, peaceful, and co-exist with the beautiful wildlife that we are
fortunate to have as our neighbors.
Most of my working career was spent at Texas Instruments Inc. in positions of
Control and Finance, Accounting, Purchasing, Material Planning, and
Production Planning. My education background is a B.S. in Business
Administration / Finance from Roger Williams University, Bristol, RI and an
M.S. in Quality Management from Anna Maria College, Paxton, MA.
I look forward to continuing to contribute to our community.
